Skibhoul Bakery in Baltasound was a finalist in the inaugural Country Living and Waitrose Made in Britain Awards.

All the finalists are featured in a special booklet, free with the October 2008 issue of 'Country Living' magazine.

The judges praised the Sandisons entry of their oceanic oatcake for simplicity - oats, seawater and vegetable oil are the only ingredients; and for innovation - the long-life, additive and wheat-free product will help the business tap into the market for healthy, traditional foods, despite its extremely remote location.
